546cowboy 301 #2 Posted March 6, 2012 They were only made one year 1990 and there were supposed to be 225 if I remember correctly. I sold one last year. I did update the total and I believe that is correct.

kpinnc 13,798 #4 Posted March 6, 2012 One year only 1990. I believe there were only 225 produced. I thought that was the number produced for the 420LSE, not the 520-8.

I might have a lead on a1988 520-H in the local area...fingers are crossed. My B-80 needs company. V Not sure how many HC's were made. I sold one about two years ago. I think the HC's had the 8.5" wide wheels and the swept front axle and the 520H did not. Not 100% on that but I think that is right.
mdn1081 1 #9 Posted March 8, 2012 Oh, and I also may add After the HC's were done I believe they all had the swept front axle.

JackC 617 #11 Posted March 8, 2012 The 520 HCs were made for the 1988 and 1989 model years. The "C" designated commercial. They were the first models to have the swept front axle primarily for the 60 inch mower deck. My 1989 has the 10.5 wide rear tires. They have a larger air cleaner than the 520H and did not have the stainless steel cover over the muffler. The dash was not as fancy as the 520H. They did not have the slots in the hood. The 1988 and 1989 520H did not have the swept front axle.
MalMac 1,332 #12 Posted March 8, 2012 JackC I do believe is right. The HC was introduced with the swept front axel because of 60in deck option for commercial use. Tractor was to hard to steer with the 60in and the 2 stage blower so in 91 came out with the steering reduction. At lease that is what I was told. I do not know this to be dead fact on because I have never seen it in writing from Wheel Horse. I can speak from experience that on my 1990 520H with a 2 stage on, it is a bear to steer with just the regular fan gear steering and the same goes when I put the 60" deck on.
