grnlark 487 #1 Posted March 2, 2012 This is the true definition of "barn fresh". It's very complete and very solid - just filthy. The hood is real nice with the exception of one fix near one of the side bolts, otherwise the front and top are straight. It seems to shift nice, has a nice belt guard and supposedly last ran in the fall. It should be interesting to see what it looks like after a bath. The plow and deck seem to be really nice also - again, just d-i-r-t-y!

grnlark 487 #4 Posted March 2, 2012 I bet that one gets an oil bath. Another nice score for sure. Big negative my friend! Salad dressing and tractors don't mix here! Soap, water and maybe a carnuba wax.

grnlark 487 #7 Posted March 2, 2012 The front rims are the only things that look pretty crusty. So, after I clean it all up I might be in the market for a set......hint, hint :)

grnlark 487 #9 Posted March 2, 2012 Ahhh, a kindred spirit you are Matt. Craig, a very cool quote I must admit! I'm a reletively savy writer myself, but never heard that expression before. You made me do a Merriam-Webster search, and as a result, I've learned something new. Thanks! :handgestures-thumbup:

grnlark 487 #18 Posted March 4, 2012 Well, I only had a few minutes this afternoon to hose it off quick. I'm really going to spend some time on it this week, but here it is so far. Definitely want to find some new front rims.

AMC RULES 37,130 #21 Posted March 4, 2012 Any idea why the front rims on these little guys typically see significantly more rusting than the rest of the tractor? :scratchead:
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #22 Posted March 4, 2012 Most of these suburbans had calcium in the front tires..

You know....these Rambler guys eh? ...but on to the tractor, looking at that is like stepping back in time. It's beautiful. What a find! I'm not a collector but I can sure appreciate the condition it's in and the belt guard too!
