it has new points, good plug, cleaned the carb, new gas , new gas line & filter. It has good spark..

it'll hit One time, then it just cranks. I think its getting to much gas. the plug is wet...

also,, does anyone have a pic of how the governor linkage is hooked up?

Just off the top of my head ...

Did it run BEFORE all this work?

Have you done a compression check?

Not sure, is that the H60 Tecumseh motor? :dunno:

I recently uploaded the H60 parts manual in the files section...might help you out.

Did you put in a new flywheel key? They are a soft aluminum alloy designed to shear. Did it backfire when you first tried to start it? Backfiring can deform the key and then you will have a very nice spark but occurring at the wrong time.

Could the carb. Float be stuck? Sounds like a lot of fuel .

4speed Just went thru the same thing. I got a carberator rebulid kit and rebuilt the carb. Make sure you clean all the vents real good . The float is tricky to set . Once i got it set right it starts good. I also put a new plug in . I used a NKG 3510

4SPEED carb rebuild kit cost me almost $15, couple cans of carb cleaner $6 to $7. I got my carb kit from carquest. You can get flywheel key at auto store maybe $1. besure and take the old one to get one the same.

are the auto parts store carb kits ethanol safe. I know the kits they sell for my 70's cars Q-jets are not. the gaskets and o-rings brake down in the ethanol.

todays gas is hard on the old engines

I check with the auto store tomorrow.
