AMC RULES 37,146 #3 Posted February 29, 2012 Not sure, is that the H60 Tecumseh motor? I recently uploaded the H60 parts manual in the files section...might help you out.
pfrederi 18,334 #4 Posted February 29, 2012 Did you put in a new flywheel key? They are a soft aluminum alloy designed to shear. Did it backfire when you first tried to start it? Backfiring can deform the key and then you will have a very nice spark but occurring at the wrong time.

The float is tricky to set . Once i got it set right it starts good. I also put a new plug in . I used a NKG 3510

I know the kits they sell for my 70's cars Q-jets are not. the gaskets and o-rings brake down in the ethanol. todays gas is hard on the old engines I check with the auto store tomorrow.
