Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #176 Posted July 10, 2013 Thought I'd bring my 606 topic back to the top and show the parts I had chromed and I painted for the 606 and Andrew's lawn ranger. 2
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #177 Posted July 10, 2013 And pulled out the 606 today and dusted it off. Heres a few pics of the tractor after I pushed it out side and put some chrome parts on today. What you see is pretty much what it looked like when I put it away last fall. Looks nice but you can see the flaws when you get close. But its just a yard tractor so in time its sure to get scratched up anyway. Engines apart right now and I'm hoping to have it running by early August. heres a few pics.... 4

And for safety reasons I better not publish it where my wife could see it . But I can tell you so far it's alot more than I could ever sell it for. so thats why I'll have it forever

Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #187 Posted July 23, 2013 Picked up some engine parts from the powder coater today. Looks Nice! But the gas tank didn't fare so well. the solder melted during the heating process and fell apart .....so I'm having it welded by a gas tank guy and then getting it re-powdered next week. for some reason the parts in the pic look blotchy. But to the naked eye they look nice!!

bowtiebutler956 650 #189 Posted July 24, 2013 Those parts look Fantastic Terry!! I'm sorry to hear about your gas tank, that would be upsetting, but I'm sure it will look great when its done. I've never had anything powder coated before, but maybe someday. Matt
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #190 Posted July 24, 2013 Those parts look Fantastic Terry!! I'm sorry to hear about your gas tank, that would be upsetting, but I'm sure it will look great when its done. I've never had anything powder coated before, but maybe someday. Matt Thanks Matt!! Painting is hard for me and very time consuming. so I've been getting some stuff powdered to speed things along. Now that I have red powdered parts , you may be able to see three different reds on my 606.(red powder paint and two colors of other red paint) oh-well.... I think my next tractor will be all powder coated.

Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #193 Posted July 26, 2013 It looks like you have found yourself a good power coater! Your parts look nice and smooth. This is going to be the prettiest 606 out there when all is said and done.... Thanks Ken!, Going to pick-up the gas tank this afternoon from the gas tank guy. Then going to drop it off at the powder guy's shop along with a 8" Brinly plow I just finished blasting. This plow will be for the 606 . more pics later.... Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #194 Posted July 29, 2013 Another step finished today Finished putting the HH60 short block together today...all outside surfaces were already blasted twice before(rust happens fast ). Then before I started painting I wiped all outside surfaces with cleaner, primed with high temp primer, then painted Red with dupli-color Engine Enamel. The pulley was powdered with the engine tins and the cylinder head you see is a junk one I lightly bolted on just for the paint job. The actual cylinder head for this engine will be just the natural aluminum color. Now I just need to keep on putting it together. The hardest part of that will be timeing the breaker point assembly with the engine.....I'm reading up on it tonight...we'll see .

Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #199 Posted August 7, 2013 (edited) Spent yesterday working on timing the HH60 for the 606. Had to move the magneto to the max clockwise adjustmment to get this engine within the timing spec. Thats my only worry about getting this thing running. used a multitester to indicate when the points were breaking. Had my 9 year old Daughter help hold things for me while using the tester. she did great!! Edited August 8, 2013 by Terry M
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,175 #200 Posted August 7, 2013 And spent today taking a brief break from working on the engine to finish this project I was making for the 606...a Brinly plow. I think it looks good.
