nylyon-(Admin) 7,293 #1 Posted February 16, 2012 Had a minute free time and thought about Speedex tractors. Anyone have one? Where is the Speedex forum? I noticed that even on mytractorforum.com there's no speedex forum.
rmaynard 15,514 #2 Posted February 16, 2012 Karl, Have you tried http://www.speedextr...rg/joinnow.html ? I don't own a Speedex, but I found this site and bookmarked it for future reference.
nylyon-(Admin) 7,293 #3 Posted February 16, 2012 Yes, but that is a paid only membership, so there's really nothing for the "browsing" public.
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #4 Posted February 16, 2012 The GT Talk forum has a Speedex sub-forum, but it's not very busy - perhaps because it's buried amongst the others? I had a tough time finding any kind of online hangouts when I had my trio back about 12 years ago. You thinking about setting something up, Coach? :scratchead:

DoctorHfuhruhurr 137 #10 Posted February 16, 2012 It does seem like a logical fit since Harold Pond was Elmer's brother. I wonder what it would have been like if they pooled their resources and knowledge and worked together instead of each taking a separate path.

grnlark 487 #18 Posted February 17, 2012 I've had a couple Speedex's over the past few years. I've had a S17, S24 and the D4 I sold to my brother. The S24 is a big machine contrary to how they look in pictures. I'd say about the size of a D series or maybe a little bigger, but slightly smaller than a Power King. I could never really warm up to the sliding engine plate design. I mean it's cool to look at but kinda dumb and dangerous from a realistic standpoint. I know where theres a pretty nice, solid S17 sitting under a tarp with an un-original Briggs, but the guy is firm on $500 and it's just not worth it IMO. Operator 7 #19 Posted February 17, 2012 Karl, your "clock" must have more hours in the day than the rest of us! With all you do where do you find the time? Setting up more forums and all. I used one of those Speedex tractors at a mobile home park I work for in the 60's, that sliding motor thing was something else. If I remember the mowing deck was rather lite. nylyon-(Admin) 7,293 #20 Posted February 17, 2012 At this point after all the moves, upgrades etc, it only takes me about 5 minutes to start a new forum, and 20 minutes to set it up! I've gotten quite efficient at it.
