can whlvr

it would depend on the shape of the tractor,if its in good shape and the motor seems to have compression then thats not too bad

Is it a hydro? Its a gamble to buy a non-running tractor where you cant test the hydro tranny.

I'd say if it's does not look like a complete piece O crap, deck not rusted out, blower in good shape, it's probably worth it, but I would offer less say $200

I would strongly agree with that if it was an early 1980 model with the Sundstrand hydro. If it has an Eaton 1100 hydro, I wouldn't be concerned.

You could probably sell the deck and thrower and cover your costs. Even if the tractor doesn't run of the motor turns its not a bad deal.

Generally your model number will have either an E or an S in the number to indicate.

E=Eaton

S=Sunstrand

P=Peerless

8=8 speed Unidrive

F=Foote

If the model #'s are gone from the tractor the Eaton 1100 (not the 700) has an oil filter that sticks out the back, and if your looking at it from the rear its on the left side. I believe the Sundstrand is mounted sideways.
