Wheel Horse grease caps

Recommended Posts

Brrly1

Hello to everyone, I am looking for the Wheel Horse grease caps. I am hoping to find four of them for my wagon. I am also hoping to find possibly an NOS set. Now I know I don't want much but it never hurts to ask. I would even settle for a really nice set as long as I could come up with four. I would be interested in one or two if they were really nice. Just trying to make it complete. Thanks John

P.S. I already put an ad in Classifieds- I thought that this might work also- Delete if you Must

They came in three colors- Red, white, or black. The black and white ones were still available from Toro in the last couple years, and often show up on Ebay as well.

Glen Pettit used to make reproductions of the red ones as well, and he's right here in the vendor section. You may want to check with him.

John, There may be 2 sizes of red caps from Glen. I purchased 2 from him at last years show for my little dump cart. I didn't have the cart there. They were too big. I wrote to Glen and he said he didn't have the smaller ones yet but was hoping to have them by Christmas. I haven't found out yet if he has them yet.

I need 2 as well but mine will be for the front wheels on a C-121. Would prefer red. If John doesn't want those from you Andy, just send me a PM and we'll work something out. regards, David

This is Glen, and I'm actually in the process of making the Front Wheel Red Logo Rubber Hub Caps, 1.5"ID, right now, this week.

IMG_0294.jpg

Will be shipping our two pairs to John (Burly) first thing in the morning.

They are available in RED, Black and Ivory/White and will fit every 1.5" wheel hub, including many of the trailers and implements.

Up to 1964 Wheel Horse used a 15/8" Hub, (we have those Hub Caps also, same price), if the Wheel was replaced, it was probably with a 1.5" hub. Wheel Horse first introduced Red hubs about 1965, the Black & the Ivory/White were only factory offered for 1 year in late 60's.

Our Reproduced Logo Hub Caps will also come with a pair of 1.4" black "Upper Spindle Caps" to fit over the upper axle end, (see lower left).

The logo we use is about 30% larger than the original (in '04, TORO still had an inventory of the smaller Red Logo Hubs & ask me to change the logo size I use). The majority of Hub Caps used were RED, (you can paint the area around the logo on these). Be sure to measure your Hub size.

A pair of the11/2" Logo Rubber Hub Caps (any color) with the black upper spindle caps is just $20, which includes shipping to you. I do not make the 1.25" Red Hub Caps because many dealers still have a small NOS inventory of that size (for the 200 and the A & B-Series tractors).

Prefer personal check or m.o. over PayPal (6% service fee): Combine orders to save, contact me for multiple items shipping costs. - GlenPettit@WheelHorseForum.com --- Be Sure to see our 25 other Wheel Horse items, scroll down to the VENDERS section.

I have several sets of those from you Glen, and I'm still glad you gave them to me. They do their job well, and they look nice too!

I just dug thru my shop and found the ones I got from Glen at last year's show still in the bag. I forgot where I put them. I wanted to keep them safe so they would stay clean and new so I could give them back to Glen at this year's show. I put them in such a safe place I couldn't find them! I've been looking for them ever since Brrly started his post. I measured my trailer and my 704 and they are both 1 1/2". I got a pair of 1 5/8 ones
