Hello All,

As a diehard Chevy / GM fan I have to say that the diss that GM gave to Ford with the apocalypse superbowl commercial had me rolling on the floor laughing. I'm just waiting to see what Ford comes up with to smack back.....

In case you guys didn't see it the short story is they show a newspaper that says Mayan 2012 apocalypse and then they pan out and the whole city is burning with meteores and alien space craft etc.... A new Silverado starts up and drives out of a pile of rubble and makes his way to meet up with 3 or 4 Chevy pickups from the 70's on up..... The guy in the new truck gets out and says "Wheres Dave????" The other guy says ohhhhh Dave didn't make it he was driving a Ford"... followed by picking up a box of Twinkies and asking if he wants one...

Lol..... its all in good fun Chevy versus Ford, Yankees versus Red Sox, Giants versus Pats, Wheel Horse versus JD/Cub Cadet and numerous other similar rivalries.

Tony.... just waiting for payback from the Blue Oval!

Oh Yah....

GM #1 !!!!!!

:ROTF: I got to stay out of that one as my truck is a DODGE! I really liked the Clint Eastwood one at half time! My beater may be a Chevy Venture, but that's a beater

It's my understanding that the guy with the Ford was actually able to drive fast enough to escape the destruction & he took the women with him...... that's why there were three Chevy guys standing in the pile of rubble with nothing but each other and a box of Twinkies. :handgestures-thumbup:

As bad as it sounds, I'm thinking three guys with a box of twinkies, sportin' some nice bow ties have all they need to find the women and repopulate the planet. We all know that's never gonna happen if you stuck driving one of them broken down, old Fud trucks. :snooty:

In case you missed it...

I am a GM guy, and my only comment regarding GM's commercials during the Super Bowl is. I want my bailout money back. They wasted a ton of money on some pretty dumb commercials.

I watched it again, and I'm with TT on this one. I didn't see any Fords, they all got out of there (with the women and children) way ahead of time. Maybe the Chevy's didn't start and they were stuck there with a box of Twinkies... The Ford guys got all the beer and women and are partying by the beach!

Actually, all that sheet metal laying around is off the Fords...they did not make it out. Let's see...a box of Twinkies or all the women....wait for it....

It is a tough choice. :)

I don't know about the Silverado but i have a 2002 chevy blazer that i bought new. It only has 28,000 miles on it and more than half of those miles were put on it by the dealership. ( trying to diagnose problems ) It has spent more time at the dealership than it has in my driveway. I Have a stack of repair orders 2 inches thick. It's had just about everything you can think of replaced on it. One thing i am sure off, GM didn't make any money on it. The dealer once told me that GM would like to get it off the road and would give me a good trade in value on a new Chevy. We never got around to talking Trade in value. I told him if GM wants it off the road then give me what i paid for it so i could go and buy a different brand Cause i already had one junker, why would i want another. I guess they finally got the bugs worked out of it but we mostly use it around home, no long trips. As you have probably already guessed, GM will never get any more of my money. ( Unless the government bails them out again ). :eusa-whistle:

As a Former GM, Ford ,and Chrysler mechanic I feel they have all gone way over board with technology and electronics. They are great when they work. But the more you have the more that can go wrong. I started out in the 80's when all that was built was crap, K cars, Citations, Escorts ect. I've seen major improvements and then they started trying to get into a Horsepower war again and started trying to get cute. Case in point. 88 Chev truck 5.7 throttle body injection. Depenable, good runner easy to work on. Same Ford or Dodge, PITA to work on. What did GM do? Tried to get all fancy with intake runners hoses ect. What did thety get ? More problems no better mileage ect. I work on boilers, air handlers and refrigeration equipment now and smile alot more too. And as far as any bailout, Without GM and Dodge, 97 billion $ out of the economy and the trickle down job losses from their suppliers,Ford would have been next as no one would have any money to buy a Ford. In fact Ford lobbied the government to bail out GM and Chrysler. As much as they compete against each other they are better because of each other. It's Halftime in America!! :flags-usa: :auto-car:

Sure wasn't a Diaper max in the commercial, wouldn't have had enough power to get out

Ford drivers had enough sense to get out of town ahead of time !

You a[[ know somebody might take this a little too far.

Here's something I got today

A true story...........

I stopped by the Chevrolet Dealership yesterday, for a look at the

new Silverado 3500 pickup. Just for fun, I took it out for a test

drive. I wanted to sense that new "feel."

The salesman (a black guy wearing an Obama "change" lapel pin) sat in

the passenger seat describing the truck and all its "wonderful"

options. The seats were of particular interest. He explained that the

seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool

air to your butt in the summer heat. Feeling like messing with him, I

mentioned that this must be a Republican truck.

Looking a bit angry, he asked why I thought it was a Republican truck.

I explained that if it were an Obama truck, the seats would blow

smoke up your ass year-round.

I had to walk back to the dealership... damn guy had absolutely no sense of humor.

546....I saw that on a motorcycle forum last week....I'm still ROTFLMAO!

Guys, vehicles are like wives.....You can get a good one, or you can get a lemon!

I have had Mopar, Ford & Chevy...all had well over 150,000 when traded, so I'm not going to get into a xxx pulling contest about what is best
