heres the craigslist ad. a friend of mine knows the owner. said the deck is missing a couple of brackets but other than that its all there. he said the only things not original were the battery and hold downs. fair price?

Edit: No Craigslist links allowed unless it's your own ad.

I peeked before I deleted the link.

Posting a link to an ad could mean losing the item to one of the 5000+ other Wheel Horse guys on the forum.

Personally, I wouldn't go $700 for a 1056.... unless I really, really had to have it for more important reasons other than just needing a tractor.

sorry didnt know about that. i thought it was a little high also i just dont have alot to compare it to. from what i've seen i was thinking $500....is that a resonable offer? im not looking for resale but i do want to make it show quality. so it being all there sounds good to me.

$500 is more reasonable.

From what I see in the pictures, I (personally) would leave it as-is..... they're only original once.

So others can see it:

I'd say it was well taken care of, so I doubt you'll have to worry about any major problems.

I have had the same model for years.... and as you can see over there under my avatar, it's my favorite.

Not nearly as nice as the one pictured above, but I have about $150 in it and it's paid me back many times over:

the fella said its all original, and all there. starts right up. he did say he tried plowing snow with it last year, and it didnt do well. he also didnt have chains or wheel weights on it. i'm sure that would make a world of difference. he even claims its got the orig spark plug...something about overspray on it. is that how they came from the factory?

Yep, you gotta have weights and sometimes chains for traction in the snow. Not so sure on the overspray bit :scratchead: .

That is correct. The engines were painted by Kohler and were completely assembled when sprayed.

I would recover the seat and leave the rest of the tractor alone.

It looks like a nice tractor, looks like a nice clean up is all it needs to me! A good snow blade goes for $150 or more,I would go for it. Maybe he will come down some, remember location is half the problem,if it's near you I would go take a good look.

Thanks for the link. I went and looked at the 1056. It's all there & pretty nice. Ran nice, drive nice. He just doesn't want to budge on the price. The paint looks better in pics. I'm going to sleep on it.

Call the guy and tell him $100 less and you will come pick it up. Sounds like its close by and looks like a nice one,you will want chains and weights but having the deck and blade is a great start. If its $700 that's not so bad is it? I bet by the time you shop till you drop for the best price on tractor, blade and so forth you won't save much money plus be driving all over to pick stuff up.

I'm not a big collector so buying a package seems to make things easier for me.

Good luck and if you get it post some pictures!

Tractors 5 miles from my house. I agree it's a nice set up...needs very little. I like it just not sure I love it. I was looking for a round nose. It's almost too nice to take apart and re paint. I'm going to sleep on it. The seller has to realize it is a buyers market. People just aren't spending money on noveltie items. I have a jet ski and a beautiful custom Harley for sale and things are just a little flat now. I'm probably going to make an offer tommorrow.

I was the same way when I was looking for my round hood. I wanted a nice clean original, when I found it I drove 3hrs to pick it up. Not sure I would do it again. Around here round hoods sell fast. (at least when I'm looking)
