Looks great, but wouldn't the cab be more beneficial set up with the blower? :scratchead:

The blower is a just in case it is to deep for the plow. I had a blower on with the cab before and didn't like it as the snow would cover the cab window and I couldn't see where I was going. If it gets to deep for the 64" plow to move it, I will put the 48" blade on. If the 48" doesn't do it that is when I will get the blower out. So far I am good with the plow up to 6" of heavy stuff. Last year we had 21" of lake effect that took me and my neighbor about 6 hours to clear. I had the 417-8 last year and it wasn't very effective.

Nice, now all we need is some snow. Let's hope it happens sooner then later. The way things have been thus far we will get it when we are all ready to get the decks back on.

I can live without it. Actually that is why I bought the blower. They predicted a really bad winter with a lot of snow so I figured if I bought one, they would be wrong

Nice setup! Lake effect snow is crazy. I can remember one time being on I-94 on the way to South Bend in a blizzard! Six lane highway down to a single lane that was all over the place. Got off at Route 2 to go east and move away from Lake Michigan. It was a bright cloudless sky after one mile! Have they needed to shutdown I-65 this year at all?

I have to ask I've had a few 520's & although they are nice machines, there a bit much for my needs.

Currently the "big" tractor in my fleet is a 417-8 that to me with the manual is every bit as strong as my prior 520's.

What was ineffective about yours?

The only gripe I have with mine is the electric lift is very slow.

Not to derail the thread, your 520's are nice & the widened blade is slick!

The mild winter we're haveing here in northern IN this season is a bit of a disapointment.

Hopeing it will snow soon or the grass will take off so I can start mowing & gett some tractor time.

Great looking pair of 520's and also great looking plow, cab, and blower! I think that you will be able to tackle any job with that pair of horses!

Mainly the 417-8 didn't have the weight to push as much snow. I had the same plow and even had the front weight on to help with the steering. Maybe it was the lack of Hydro or the fact I didn't like the manual trans. The electric lift was real slow and a battery drainer. But the main dislike was that when I was done I was wore plum out because the lack of gear reduction steering.

A second cab, and I would think you have the ultimate :wh: combination for snow clearance.

Out of space to store when not in season.
