Modified heavy duty hitch

Recommended Posts

Being retired and not much to do out side, I look at my hitch and desided to make a a few changes.

Here I cut off the braces and cleaned up the area.

Then I welded it back together, and added some paint.

While I was taking things a part I got a few more.

I added another piece of steel welded them up and shot a little paint on them.

This is what I ended up with.

I could have put the other hitch on if I had a couple more hands and a lot of patience, but having neither I left it off.

Looks Good! Now that's using your noodle, best of both worlds! I like it.

With the reciever hitch installed do you have enough room to run the clevis hitch up all the way?

It's all the way up in the picture. I move bar on the hitch back 1/4" and added a 1/2" piece of steel behind it to move it away from the receiver. There is about 3/16" between the clevis and the other hitch. I didn't get a picture of the lever assembly but I moved the bar to the other side.

Here is a picture of the lever assembly.

This is on a C-120 8 speed and I moved the flat bar to the left of the one that is attached to the lift cable. Look like I need to hook up the tail light.

It matches my front bumper so I'll leave it white.
