Kelly 1,029 #2 Posted January 29, 2012 Well it's hard question to answer, but in the $500 to $1000 range with out seeing pics that would help, and it should have a K90 on it not a K91.
4xfourfun 30 #3 Posted January 29, 2012 I went to look at a '55 RJ35 last week. It sold fo sell for $600 an hour before I got there. Tractor and deck were in decent shape and it had a replacement motor. Did you verify it was a '55?
jeremi3210 735 #4 Posted January 30, 2012 The year of it iam not sure. The rims are black and the hood is smooth. are there any way to tell the year?
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,331 #5 Posted January 30, 2012 Early 55's have the gas tank stand. Like this one...
jeremi3210 735 #6 Posted January 30, 2012 No it does not have a gas tank stand.
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,331 #7 Posted January 30, 2012 How about the steering wheel? Is it like this one?
jeremi3210 735 #8 Posted January 30, 2012 Yes it looks like that one. I think its made of cast iron.
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,331 #9 Posted January 30, 2012 It is either a later 55 or 56. Value of either should be about the same. Do you happen to have any pics?

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,331 #11 Posted January 31, 2012 Do you have a pic of the back and front? It looks to be a late 55 or early 56 to me.
jeremi3210 735 #12 Posted January 31, 2012 I bought it tonight for $300. I will post more pictures soon.
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,331 #13 Posted January 31, 2012 Very good buy. I look forward to more pics. Congrats !!
rj35hunter 283 #14 Posted January 31, 2012 Steve, I'm with you.....I think it's a late 55. It has the larger hole in the hood for brass push button kill switch, larger 7" rear drive pulley, cast iron steering wheel, does not have extra brace welded to the variable speed pulley brace, & does not have the gas tank stand. Here is a pic to compare to for identity reasons. All of the details I can see match my late 55. Good luck with her & great find!!! Clay

VinsRJ 721 #18 Posted February 6, 2012 You will have to hunt for the hub, they come up for sale from time to time. Reverse discs and paws can be found, contact Joe Papke for those parts. Looks like a nice startng point! Congrats.
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,331 #19 Posted February 6, 2012 Bill Jenkins (member here) reproduces hubs for these. He has a listing now on ebay for a set. You will need to take the hub off and take pics of the pawl set up so we can help with that.
