Norlett 3 #1 Posted January 28, 2012 My son has created an account for me so I can share my pictures and see what you lot are up to. You may remember my tractor - it's a Norlett Commander (Commando 8) with a JAP engine and its bright green! I've also got a B-111 Frank
AMC RULES 37,134 #2 Posted January 28, 2012 Frank Wondering, was your Norlett originally green from the factory? :scratchead:
Sparky-(Admin) 21,398 #3 Posted January 28, 2012 By a JAP engine do you mean from Japan or is JAP a brand name? Mike..........
meadowfield 2,593 #4 Posted January 28, 2012 Hi Dad !!! I'll answer those questions on his behalf! Norletts were gold originally, but this was green when he bought it and we rather liked it - not knowing the original colour. JAP engines are actually J.A.P. (J.A.Prestwich) made in London, this one is from 1943 288cc 3.5hp, pull start, probably from a war time generator or similar. mark
Sparky-(Admin) 21,398 #5 Posted January 28, 2012 Thats a huge engine for only 3.5 hp! Does it struggle to move the tractor and operator? I run a Honda 5hp on a 656 and it sometimes works hard to get going. Mike...........

meadowfield 2,593 #10 Posted January 29, 2012 When are you going to paint it in the right shade of red?? As someone who had a green Westwood you are in no place to criticise ! :P
Stigian 1,234 #11 Posted January 29, 2012 Lol, in my defense it was a very dark shade of green... It certainly looked better than the "all over" coat of rust the Westwood came with when I first bought it :)
