57RJ #2 pics and questions

Recommended Posts

Well while at another member's house yesterday while picking up the motor from him for the first RJ35 I bought from him a few weeks ago I ended up taking home the second 57 RJ35 he had. I will be meeting up with him later in the week or over the weekend to pick up the rims and tires. I have a few quesitons here...

1- The lift lever has 2 tabs welded on with a lift rod that looks like it attached to a front mounted attachment. My guess is that it was fabricated at some time in the past by a po. Just throwing it out there to see if anyone else has seen this before?

2- I do not believe the gas tank is correct however wondering if anyone could tell me what is is for? Does not have the clinton tank shape however the filler tube looks like a clinton?

Thanks--

Steve, that gas tank looks like its out of a newer tractor like a 704. My 704's gas tank looks exactly like that one down to the placement of the outlet hole and the height of the inlet. It also has the locking tab style gas cap too.

Nice find looks straight, the tank is a 603, 704, 604, 654, and a Ranger or 2
