JOPA HAS PASSED

Recommended Posts

Sad day indeed for College Football Fans. The winningest coach ever-has been called home to be with God. Joe Paterno was a class act-its hard to just wrap ones mind around this mans accomplishments, having been a coach for over sixty years. His discipline and love for his players will never be forgotten. He spoke at my sons graduation from Tri-State College in Angola In. We spoke with him after the ceremony- he was down to earth-not caught up in the cut throat business world that College sports have become today.

My next statement is controversial- I think the "Powers that be" at Penn State -killed Joe just as sure as if they pulled the trigger on a Gun. R.I.P. Joe

Thanks-Al

True and well sid Al. Joe was one of a kind, and fought for players to graduate. It has always been a pleasure watching him on the sidelines. I think what happened lately...just broke his heart. He will be missed.

Al, I think it is great you had a chance to speak personally with Joe Paterno. That will be an awesome memory for you and your son to share throughout your lifetimes. This had to be a very painful last few months for Joe and for those who loved him.

There should be no honor for someone that hid the hellish things that Joe Paterno did.... The fact that he put football and his career ahead of who knows how many childrens lives being wrecked by his assistant coach shows the true human being he was. Getting caught at the twilight of his career is what did him in..... He probably saw the goal line (no pun intended) and thought he had skated through the whole deal and was going to be immortilized as the greatest college football coach ever. To him I say Karma is a ***** and he went "home" to face his maker.

I probably shouldn't of replied and the whole topic probably shouldnt of been posted in the first place.... this post was made after thinking about the subject..... last night when I read it for the first time I had much harsher words. My intent was not to offend any other member or start a slugfest. My intent was to voice my opinion on the subject and thats what I did.

I think it's important to remember that Joe isn't the sick individual who committed the crimes against helpless members of our society. When approached with the info, he did what he was supposed to do, and reported it to the authorities.

I know I have made many bad decisions in my lifetime, I can only pray that society wouldn't condemn me to death for one of them. These are not my only thoughts on the subject, just some of the better one's that have come out of the grieving process for these children. I couldn't imagine how difficult it must be raising kids in our society today.

It is sad to see such a icon brought down and pass so fast.

First I would like to say the crime is unthinkable.

I believe he acted at the time and the man was removed.

Who is to know what he knew but by himself, or was sheilded from knowing by others but by those who were there at the time.

For who can judge anyone without all the facts,

I would like to think that Tom Osborn would have went to the cops if he heard that Charlie McBride was in the shower doing devilish things to innocent kids!!!!
