Docwheelhorse 2,689 #1 Posted January 22, 2012 Hello All, I want to buy myself a flywheel puller..... I can see myself working on Tecumseh ignitions and Kohler stators and both require getting the flywheel off. In your opinion what is the best tool to use.... I'm talking about perhaps a factory tool from Kohler or Tecumseh---anybody know where to get them? Or.... what would you guys suggest that will work and won't wreck the flywheel in the process. can whlvr 993 #2 Posted January 22, 2012 i have 2 pullers,a harmonic type which is handy for pullies, flywheels but if a flywheel is stuck i like the homemade puller(tt gave me the idea)i made a puller for hubs, that i can pull flywheels with too,its a peice of angle iron, drilled in the center that has a 3/4 bolt that runs through it,and holes drilled out at the same distance as the flywheel bolt holes that you thread the 3/8(i think)bolts into, simple and pretty well indestucktable
