MXL 0 #1 Posted January 18, 2012 Does anyone know if new rims(front and back) can be purchased for a 1960 suburban. fronts are 4.80/4.00-8, rears are 6-12. I found tires but old rims are to far gone to restore.

SPINJIM 1,981 #4 Posted January 19, 2012 I just went thru a search for the front rims for a 1960 Suburban last week. They're available, but you might have to do some drivng or shipping to get them. There's a pair on ebay right now for $199 (way too expensive). I tried three collectors/part sellers before I found one 60 miles away. Make sure you get the ones with the offset axle. It's about 4 3/4 long, and protrudes on the inner side. Many other old 8" rims are only about 3 1/2" long. Expect to pay $35 to $60 each, depending on condition and whether a tire is included. Good luck. The search is half the fun. Jim
