64s 83 #1 Posted January 11, 2012 Hey Guys, I'm trying to clean up my basement a little and found a couple of old belts. I managed to find out where they all go but one. Does anyone know what belt number 1550 fits? Thanks in advance.
rmaynard 15,426 #2 Posted January 11, 2012 Is that a Toro number or Gates or ??
64s 83 #3 Posted January 11, 2012 Bob, It's a Toro/Wheel Horse number.
rmaynard 15,426 #4 Posted January 11, 2012 It doesn't show up as a Toro/Wheel Horse number on any of the Toro parts search engines. Are you missing digits?
64s 83 #5 Posted January 11, 2012 Bob, That's what's on the belt - 'Wheel Horse 1550' . It doesn't seem to come up in the Toro sites, but I did find a reference to a cross reference to another belt manufacturer (Ithink is was Gates), and again it didn't tell me what its application is. I just remembered I might have another book with some info - I'll have to dig it out. I mean find it .
rmaynard 15,426 #6 Posted January 11, 2012 There is a Gates belt #1550. It is 3/8" x 55". Anything like yours?
64s 83 #7 Posted January 11, 2012 No that's too long.
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #8 Posted January 11, 2012 Wheel Horse belt # 1550 ~ 41.9" long X 1/2" wide. I'll try to dig up what it was used on (tomorrow) - if no one beats me to it.
bowtieguy 334 #9 Posted January 11, 2012 My copy of form #492-0392 (Wheel Horse uage chart) shown belt # 1550 as a 4L belt....41.90" length...but I don't see a reference to where it is used.... The closest reference is belt # 1552...drive belt for the 56/57 RJ-35.........I'll keep looking! :twocents-02cents:
rmaynard 15,426 #10 Posted January 11, 2012 If I had searched a little more I would have found it. It is in the parts list for the 1954 Pond Walk Away. Also, the PTO-66 manual makes reference to the 1550 belt in a list of drive parts needed for long chassis tractor models 1056, 1076, and 1276.
64s 83 #11 Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks guys. It's a little odd that it doesn't seem to come up readily like the others .
