Wheel-N-It 2,969 #1 Posted January 11, 2012 Hello everybody, and thank you for letting me become a member of this good forum. I have been a WheelHorse owner for almost 21years. I bought a new 312-8 in April 1991, and it is still a good looking working tractor to this day. One of the plans I have for this year is to buy a camera I can use to download pics of the 312 to here. The 312 is a low hour machine for it's age. There are only 512hours on it . I also have a matching tiller that I also bought new about two months after purchasing the WheelHorse. Here where I live in rural North Carolina I do have alot of grass to cut so the 312 is not my only lawn tractor. You WheelHorse guys will have to forgive me, but I also own a John Deere 325 (all hydro), and an Ariens 1448 zero turn (definetly not a tractor), but the WheelHorse has by far always been my favorite. And OK one more, a 1975 Cub Cadet 1650 Hydro (The Big Boy). So with all that being said and with the kids being grown, and more time on my hands, I have freshened up the 312 with new belts and blades and choke cable and headlight bezel and engine tuning, and have discovered I had such a good time doing this work that I have to get myself another Horse to turn some wrenches on and hopefully post some pics of here too. I am talking to a friend who is an Allis / Case lawn tractor collector, and he has a few WheelHorses he is williing to part with. One of which is a mid 1990's 520H with a cracked block Onan. We have not talked money yet but I plan to see him again in a couple of days to talk some more about it. I will post more about this adventure later. Also I will be in another area here asking if there is an easy repower option for this tractor. Alot of my decision to buy this 520 will hinge on the responses I recieve from you guys regarding repowering it, so put your thinking caps on please HA! Anyway, I look forward to hearing from anyone who would like to jump in and thank you for reading my post. Happy New Year, Van

Sparky-(Admin) 21,318 #3 Posted January 11, 2012 :WRS: There are endless options for re-powering a 520 from another Onan to a single cylinder diesel. Mike.........

Wheel-N-It 2,969 #5 Posted January 11, 2012 Thank you for the warm welcome guys. Yep that repower project could be quite interesting, but I need to keep it fairly simple. Even though the kids are grown, I still have a job and other duties that take up quite a bit of my time. Jay, are there ever any WheelHorse shows in North Carolina? I live in central NC and can do some day trips for a show. I would even bring the 312.
