CTPATRIOT 12 #1 Posted January 5, 2012 After checking the fluids and draining the fuel,i found the reason it wouldn't turn over(loose ign. switch plug).I put in a good battery and gave it a small shot of starting fluid. She fired right up and runs decent! She's not pretty from being outside so long, but will be an easy project when the time comes.
Pollack Pete 2,273 #2 Posted January 5, 2012 Hey,great to hear another 520-H is up and running.I think yours actually looks pretty good. It's better than mine.Mine sat so long with pine needles on it that both foot rests rotted off. Any way, good luck with your new toy.I love the sound of those Onan twins. Also like the chrome muffler cover. :woohoo:
Ken B 3,164 #3 Posted January 5, 2012 From your picture it looks like with a buffer and some compound it should clean up real nice. Love the sound of them Onans!
CTPATRIOT 12 #4 Posted January 5, 2012 Here's a pic of the blower,it was taken apart when the gearbox went bad. It's in very good shape overall.

AMC RULES 37,132 #6 Posted January 5, 2012 I'm thinking, you'ld be really suprised how well that tractor will clean up. Ditto on the previous buffer and compound advise. :teasing-poke:

Sparky-(Admin) 21,347 #11 Posted January 5, 2012 Shawn, after you get any bugs worked out of it you should really consider doing what this member did for his Onan 20. (click the link below) Get any crap out from under the engine tins and vent the beltguard so it runs as cool as it can. I think its something WH should have done. Jeremy Watson 22 #12 Posted January 6, 2012 Good looking 520! What is it with people that let these tractors rot away? When i got mine it looked like it hadn't been washed since it was new. After a little tlc they cleanup nice. Good luck!
