Mith 2 #1 Posted November 16, 2007 Sounds like most you guys have seen this before, but I'll post anyway Finished it back in july I think, and my back has been thanking me ever since! Very versatile tool, and the 312 handles it fine. The loader itself just bolts on to existing holes on the tractor, apart from the seat the tractor is exactly the same as stock. If any of you guys would like details on the mounting if you are planning a similar project let me know.
kj4kicks 152 #2 Posted November 17, 2007 VERY NICE !!! and the fact that a 312 puts up with it proves just how tough these Horses really are. Thanks for the pics. Eldon.
kpinnc 12,176 #3 Posted November 17, 2007 I can't use the words on this site to describe how much I actually like it! BUT, A "store bought" FEL is an awesome attachment. To have built one on your own, and it actually works: AWESOME Great work! Kevin
Greg B. 1 #4 Posted November 17, 2007 Mith, I have a C-165 and want to build a loader for it. Have you done a construction series on yours. I'd sure like to see the details. Thanks, Greg B.
Mith 2 #5 Posted November 17, 2007 Thanks guys. Greg, there are a whole load of photos on my site loader page If you want photos of specific areas let me know.
Greg B. 1 #6 Posted November 19, 2007 Mith, Thanks for the link to your site and for sharing. Your pictures have answered several questions. I am curious, though, as to why you went with a separate reservoir as opposed to the conventional type in the tubular uprights. I'm not being critical, just curious, and completely understand if it was a case of material at hand. Been there, done that. Thanks again, Greg B.
Mith 2 #7 Posted November 19, 2007 Greg, 2 reasons, first I had the I girder I used already, and wanted to use that, so I had to contain the fluid elsewhere. Secondly, I wanted to be able to use the hydraulics for other things even when the loader was off, so I needed all the hydraulics to be on the tractor and separate from the loader. This is also why the valve is bolted to the tractor and not the loader. And also the tank contains more fluid so it runs cooler.
Greg B. 1 #8 Posted November 20, 2007 Thanks, Mith. As expected, it all makes perfect sense. Greg B.
