hi everyone, i met my friend RC about 20 years ago. he has done a lot of favors for me. so i decided to do something for him. i picked up this 312 off craigslist in CT. it came with a 42inch sd deck. the deck had one crack in it that the PO had welded up. i applied 2 coats of POR 15 to the underside of the deck. i sharpened the blades and greased the spindles. the tractor paint and decals were in pretty good shape. i had to replace the coil/module. all 4 tires needed replacement. i upgraded the front from 6 inch to the 16x6.50x8 size carlisle turfs.. the rears were 22x9x12, i put on 23x8.50x12's carlisle turfs. painted all 4 wheels silver. the axle seals had been leaking for a long time. the unidrive was a giant blob of dirt, grass clippings and oil. i spent mucho time cleaning it. i replaced the axle seals and refilled the unidrive with fresh 85w-90 weight gear oil. the shifter boot was in good shape. i added new fuel line with an inline filter. cleaned the carb too. new plug and fresh rotella T 30weight oil in the kohler. i added the dial-a-height feature. i painted a few odds and ends. new floor board mats. re-soldered the wires to the headlight so they work now. my friend RC was speechless when i delivered it to him and said" here is a wheelhorse for you." hope you guys like the pics. mike in mass.

As a person who count my best friends on one hand I have to applaud you on your generocity. I am quite sure this friend of your is much more than a friend. From the day he recieved his WH he will think of you. I am also quite sure if he turns out like us, his wife will think of you everytime he chuck's out some cash or is on the RS web site saying something like " Honey, there is a snow blower for sale and a blade and a tiller. Think how nice the yard will be this summer and no snow in the winter" Yea, I am sure both of them will think of you every time they see it. Congradulations, I think you are one hell of a friend.... Awesome.

Chris

hi ce318, well sure enough chris, RC has already added a plow, weights and chains. he asked me if i could find him a plow. luckily, raider12 (thanks denver) was enroute back home with a trailer load of wheelhorse goodies. we met up and wolla! timing is everything! RC's wife thought the plow would be great for the icy, slushy storms we get in new england. how cool is that! mike in mass.

How well does that PTO-driven brake system work? :ychain:

Interesting system, looks to me like the belt needs to be re-routed a little bit, maybe adjust the pedal, should work just fine. :ychain:

Seriously, very nice machine!
