Callen 64 #1 Posted January 1, 2012 Have a leaky ram. Can't seem to find any info on my '70 Charger 12 Auto with hyd lift. I've searched here and found info on newer tractors. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
pfrederi 17,876 #2 Posted January 1, 2012 If it is original it is probably welde piston type. (There are at least 3 styles). Is your clevis threaded on the end of the shaft and have a single set screw? If so the repair kit is 101699 for only $50+. All you get is a couple of O rings a couple af backer rings and a seal. Take it to Hydro repair place I will bet they have the rings for alot less money. Also they will check for damage that may make teh cylinder unuseable (if you buy the kit and the shaft or bore is damaged you wasted your money. There is a manula form WH I have the download but don't remeber where I got it. PM me I can send it to you
Callen 64 #3 Posted January 2, 2012 Thank you, Paul. Went out and cleaned it good. No leak from the ram, it's coming from the swivels in the hoses. Do these usually leak there?
pfrederi 17,876 #4 Posted January 2, 2012 If it is the swivel itself that is leaking you will have to replace the hose. (Take the old hose to a hydro shop) If it leaks around the fitting where it screws into the valve bank or the cylinder remove it and check the O ring. (Have a pan underneath as you will get ATF running out)

Callen 64 #6 Posted January 4, 2012 What is the purpose for the swivels? Think I'm going to put adapters on it and use a flare type fitting on the hoses.
