I would do the exact same thing however when you have a tractor (like some of mine) that has no opportunity to "bring back the shine" then I go with the oil. I do not claim to be a paint specialist but I have painted, wet sanded, buffed with high speed machine etc. Like I have said before "you can't polish a turd". I have a few turds but I like them that way....
