6wheeler 637 #1 Posted December 30, 2011 OK, I got an Idea. I drew some pictures while waiting for a load today. I measured the front of the grille on my 165 and I think I can shoehorn a radiator into in it. So I need to find a victim (Not cutting up mine) Anyway, so far. The frame will have to be lenthened to fit the Dihatsu diesel and radiator and hydro. Guessing 8 to 10 inches. Probably, the only real WH parts will end up being the hood, hoodstand and fender apparatus. I will have to make a front axle. It will be adjustable for width. Also, being it will have wheel motors on the rear, it too, will be adjustable. It will be at least 18" taller than normal. I am trying to get 24" of ground clearance ao I can cultivate corn at 15" to 18". Just before canopy. If I can get these drawings scanned, I am going to try to get them posted. Here we go. . Starting trouble again. Pat

6wheeler 637 #3 Posted January 22, 2012 Ok, I just have been trying to fine tune the drawings so a friend of mine that is a machinist can have them to evaluate and give me some more ideas. I am running into a problem though. In order to get the clearance I want, I either need to put 18" spindles on it. Or, 16" tall front tires and take some spindle length out. Does anyone know if a manufacturer like say Carlisle makes a relatively narrow 16" tall tire? The problem is, I think with 18" spindles, there would be alot of torque on them. I think if I were to hit a rut or a ditch bank with the weight of a front mounted cultivator on it, they may break or at least twist. Does that seem feasable to you guys?
