Looks like a Bolens without its hood..

which if true, the colors would be correct..

(or close anyway..Bolens is more of a blue-green..not really John Deere green)

not an exact match, but close:

Found it! yep, its a Bolens..

a Bolens "Husky" model..

a few different "Husky" models were made..Husky 750, Husky 800 and Husky 1000.

(probably very similar, with different engine sizes.)

Looks like 1962 to 1965, or thereabouts..

Now maybe the color *isnt* correct on this one! ;)

because it looks like Huskys were not in blue/green and yellow..

looks like someone did the "I want it to look like a deere" routine..

I don't think the colors are even close. I just finished restoring my brother's Bolens and I matched the paints and for that yr. it was more of a brownish. you may be thinking of an earlier Bolens.

Ken, must be you didnt open the three links I posted! ;)

open the first one..here it is again:

Bolens had a paint scheme that was very close to John Deere green and yellow..

just a slightly different shade of green..more of a bluish-green.

thats why I said it was close..

The tractor in question is a tube frame, the picture of the tractor in your first link is not. I believe the tractor in your link is a 1961 Rideamatic. Did you open the link? The tractor in question isn't that old IMO. I'm not a real Bolens pro but I don't recall ever seeing a green tube frame Bolens. I have only seen them being goldish and or brownish.

I'm well aware that the earlier Bolens tractors were greenish. I have owned a few thru the years. Much nicer shade of green than John Deere green though.

Ken is right. The late 50's Ride-a-Matics (and Versa-Matics) were the only Bolens that were green. Those were not tube frame tractors. The tube frame tractors (600/800/850/1050 etc.) were turd brown frames and off-white sheet metal. The tractor pictured above would not have been originally green. I'm guessing it's a 60's 600 or 800.

I had a old tube frame Bolens that was Gold I think it was a 700 and yes the very early ones are green but the later are mostly the brown off white color.

yes, I know..I clearly said the first one was "close" but not exact..but that was before I found the actual model..

then in my second post I said I found the actual model, the "husky", which clearly are not green (which I also clearly stated in my second post)

my posts were not confusing..you made them so.

Its amazing what a little editing can do. For the record, if you are going to start stating facts, you should try to have them correct the first time around and in one post. It makes it much easier for myself and everyone to follow along. I don't need to open links, nor do I like to. I don't have to look at pictures to tell me that green isn't right for that tube frame tractor, it is something I already know. I'm not even sure your follow up post was there when I was typing out my post. It says I posted at 2:39 a.m. That didn't happen, I was sound asleep by then.

No need to get snotty with me, I was only adding additional info to your post. Since you like to state facts (clearly?) here is one of my own I'd like to share with you, and I'll CLEARLY state it. I have forgotten more than you know about these tractors.

I'm not going to go on and on with this Scot, but if that ain't the pot callin the kettle black?

As clearly stated, I was only adding additional info to your post and trying to help. You know what they say, "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink"

All I did was discover what model the tractor is, then clarified your questions about what you (incorrectly) assumed I was saying about the color.

you misunderstood me, by not completely reading my posts..

(posts #2 and 3 in this thread, which are quite short and simple)

I then corrected you..

your head then exploded..why? no idea..

I'm only going to reply this one last time and then I'm done. To think that I have exploded it is clearly obvious that you don't know me.I'm not even a little pissed with you. If I were you'd know it thru a P.M. Who resorted to name calling?

How about some updates on that 854? It has been what a yr. now? We have all been waiting patiently.

The OP's question has been answered, it's obviously a Bolens.

Since this topic has deteriorated I am now closeing it.
