heres another rusty girl,shes gonna get a facelift when i find a bigger motor,shes my garbage tractor(pulls the garbage bin to the road)and she plows real good for 5.5 hp,and that motor is very old and used,like the tractor

My 16 horse puller. Its got billet aluminum wheelie bars and next summer will even ride on aluminum wheels! I painted the chassis and wieght brackets when i was piecing it together, but I'm still not going paint the sheet metal as i got chrome stickers and named it! "Tetanus Shot"

The 854 gas tank still seeps gas around the gasket after installing a new one, but, I said but, I have a one piece tank to put on it

Here's a cool rusty clunker laying in the back of the pile. Cool little RJ58 laying in the weeds for many years! I took the motor off years ago to keep in inside. I cut the weeds down right before this pic, it had a tree or 2 growing inside the frame! Hammerhead

Here's a 953 I got from a friends junk pile. Everything was there including the blown motor, which was torn apart in boxes. Two weeks later we had it done.

Here is my working tractor. Started with a C-100 8 Spd That i bought in parts with no motor. Put on a 5Hp B&S motor With twin output shafts from a roto tiller, Used an old commando 800 hood with the front cut out so you can get to the choke on the motor. The rear fender and seat is from the commando also. The rear tires are from a skid steer. My dad and i use this every day to pull the wagon in the pics to collect maple sap that we cook down to make maple syrup. Look behind the tractor in some of the pics and you can see the gallon jugs collecting sap. This tractor will never win best of show but it sure does the job.

Did just pick this up a while back. Spent it's whole life outside I do believe. Had three flat tires when I got it. Fixed that and it runs good. 1982 Workhorse GT-1848.

My 1988 or 89 310-8. Got it in 2001 from a co-worker's husband for $100. Added

in a WH trailer for $50 more. Needed a new seat so I gerry-rigged a busted up seat

from an old Murray. That seat is still on it.

And it still has this mud on it!

It's centered around Monterey, straight down I-81 into Virginia and then west on U.S. 250, probably 4-5 hours from where you are. I'm hoping to make it down again this year, there's always something new to see and some really interesting people to talk to.

Not to mention it's a MAPLE festival.

Now my turn -- where's the tour in northern PA that you're talking about?

I'll throw one out there too. I have a 1968 Commando 6.

After some searching, I located what I consider to be a "correct enough" replacement engine (right model, wrong type #)

And this is what it looks like today:

I might do an actual restoration on it some day, but for now, I'm calling it a survivor restoration.

I wish I actually had a before picture of mine. It looked about as bad as your Commando 8, caseguy. When my dad got his Kubota 7100, the Commando was banished to the backyard. Onec we moved about 10 years later, my dad and I did a partial restoration with a rattle can. We did it right with a sandblaster and primer, but she's not really perfact. Shes a worker.

I hope to get a more powerful one, maybe a Raider 10 or 12, and when I do, I'll give my Commando a proper restoration.

Tunahead72, Check out www.pamaple.com That is the web site for the Potter/tioga maple producers association. There you can get alot of info on the tour. The little operation my dad and i have has made us 1 and a 1/2 gal. of syrup so far. Not bad for us. I wish we had sugar maple trees to tap. Would have 2 times that much by now. It takes us around 80 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup. But it is fun to do with my dad. Enjoy your parents, people only live so long!!!
