dgjks6 6 #1 Posted June 28, 2008 I just took the head of my 312-8 with a kohler magnum engine to clean it as recommended. Do I clean the intake valve also? How about the top of the piston? I scraped the carbon off with a block of wood. Does it matter if some of the carbon falls into the cylinder? If so how do I get it out? My question is what kind of damage can I cause by doing this or am I pretty safe no matter what I do?
kj4kicks 152 #2 Posted June 28, 2008 Use a shop vac to clean and crumbs. DO NOT use compressed air, as that will drive the small pieces down into the rings. Soon afterward, you'll have a mosquito fogger....
