restoring a 1974 B-100 Automatic

Recommended Posts

I am working on restoring my wheelhorse. Looking for suggestions on painting rims. I sandblasted them and my friend who runs a bodyshop was going to paint them. What color paint do I use that is accurate. I am really tring to get everything as original as possible. Also having trouble attaching pictures to the website. I have a blackberry 9550 phone with pics on it. will that work for the website? 608KEB

Here's a link to a paint recommendation thread in the restoration section.

The above link has some very good suggestions for spray paints, but I prefer powder coating because it is much less prone to nicks and scratches when remounting the tires.

When I took the tires off of my rims, the inside of the rims had a very nice 'original' factory color. I had my powder-coater match the color before sandblasting them. Whatever he came up with for a match was perfect. If you are interested in powder coat, I can find out what color he used.

I would like to know Bob!

My brother is in the process of building a powder coating booth.

For his use everything would be black...but I am considering investing in some powder...
