truckin88 104 #1 Posted December 15, 2011 Well I have been wanting a simiplicity for a while, they seem to be way over priced, but man do they cut and stripe nice. I think I did ok on this deal. I saw this on CL, needs some work odds and end, but all together not bad. It is an 1989 Deutz Allis 1817 (samething as a simplicity 6517 or 17GTH). Came with 48" deck and 42" snow thrower and weights, runs decent. It needs the basics, plus a drive belt and snow blower belt, and the steering is skipping gears. It is a Kohler 17 Magnum Twin, man does it roar. This thing is all simplicity too. I paid $400 for the setup.

Ken B 3,164 #5 Posted December 15, 2011 My 1966 Allis Chalmers B-10 is the best cutting grass machine I have yet to own. I'll no doubt be layin the fertilizer on heavy this spring.
truckin88 104 #6 Posted December 16, 2011 thanks guys, it is all torn apart, I have a punch list of stuff to get her moving right and already placed an order for parts. I am hoping the steering is an easy fix (hopefully just bushings) then I can keep parts at around $100.

truckin88 104 #9 Posted December 19, 2011 Here is the question, it is hard to find (not impossible) the deutz spring green and decals, do I paint it orange and put the simplicity decals on. Is that a bad thing? It is a lot cheaper and easier to do....
Sparky-(Admin) 21,338 #10 Posted December 19, 2011 I would keep it the original color scheme. Mike........
Ken B 3,164 #11 Posted December 20, 2011 Personally speaking, I wouldn't have a problem going with the Simplicity color. The green kinda looks like something AMC with have put on a Pacer.
