oldnugly 2 #1 Posted December 15, 2011 Sold a couple Horses lately and there was a big empty space in the stable that I was hoping to fill with a C-120. Today I brought one home. It's a '74 auto with a nice deck and an even nicer 42in snow blade. The tractor runs nicely and the Sundstrand tranny seems strong. The blade is one of the older type with the "A" type rails that go back to the rear axle in a continuous angle. Puzzle is it has the angle adjust from the seat. The other I've seen had the operator get off the tractor to change the angle so I wonder if mine is factory. All my other Horses have had Kohler "K" series. This one has the dreaded(at least by some) Tecumseh HH-120!!?? Any special handling I need to do for the Tec'y? The price was too right to turn down. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

rmaynard 15,514 #5 Posted December 15, 2011 Hmmmmm.........I'm far from a C-120 expert,but I've never seen one with a Tecumseh... The 1975 C-120 Special (1-0357), had a Tecumseh. oldnugly 2 #10 Posted December 15, 2011 I took another look at the old blade as far as how to angle the blade. It looks like part of it is missing which might explain the 'get off to tilt blade' thing. Its' in my garage but belongs to a friend. According to the Yahoo chart at least some of the '74 C-120's were built with Tecy's, unfortunately, all were autos. The engine and tractor numbers check out as valid for each other as far as can be known. Tomorrow I'll change the fluids and give her a little more workout. I think I'll try the snow blade on my '74 C-100-8spd and it'll be back-up for my '74 C-160-8spd. Pete, you're right about those "C"s! Great tractors! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
