Season for giving Merry Christmas all!

I looked at the Christmas countdown and sadly remembered a personal goal that I had hoped to accomplish before, well Thanksgiving actually, and I want to share that with you.

A couple of months ago I was working on a plan to raise money to donate to Childhood Cancer (St. Baldrick) in Max's name. Behind the scenes I had contacted Keith at www.wheelhorse.org, who was all in favor, and was about to contact MTF (www.mytractorforum.com) as well and I am certain they would have helped, I had even contacted Tom Nunn with more information to follow. I was going to purchase custom made decals (non-forum specific from Terry) to be sold at the forums (something like "Tractors for a cause" ) with the profits going to St. Baldrick. It was a grand plan, and was coming along so nicely..... but...

That's when we lost RedSquare.

The plan to raise money for St. Baldrick took a back seat to getting RedSquare back up, and not that a tractor forum is more important than childhood cancer (because it will NEVER be), but because RedSquare was the tool that would be used for this charitable event. Unfortunately, between work and recovering the forum, the plan was dropped, at least for now, and I am personally disappointed with myself for not getting it off the ground sooner.

While I am completely appreciative of your donations to RedSquare (and they are needed) during this time of the year (whether you celebrate Christmas or not) please remember those who are in need. Maybe that $10 you were going to spend for orings, could be used to feed a family for a day? That $20 from uncle Louie, is that the little extra needed to save a child's life who is suffering from Cancer? Or even that $25 donation to RedSquare, I think that there are far more who need than the forum right now.

So my message to you, is please remember those who need help your help. Some are asking and some are not and please remember the heroic fight of little Max and how you yes YOU made a real difference in that young man's life and his family 2 years ago for his Christmas.

I do wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and hope that you enjoy the holiday with your family. If you don't celebrate Christmas, I still wish joy and happiness to you and your families, but please put that extra change in the bucket where the man or woman is standing in the cold ringing a bell. Put that unwraped toy in the Toys for Tot's collection, thank a Veteran even if it's just words, and help stop Childhood Cancer in anyway you can, cause we need our kids, even if Santa put them on the naughty list, they still deserve to see the coal in their stocking, as I have far too many times.

All things Happen for a reason.

So maybe now, instead of a couple of Months you could start something better than a short term thing?

You can start the "Tractors for a cause" and have it year round, all of us that go to events throughout the year can help raise money for it?

It is tough to remember all that some people go through, recently we were informed of mandatory 6 day work weeks until Christmas, while I was driving to work Sunday morning, not at all happy about it, I got 2 phone calls. The first was that a good friend of mine had just found out he has throat cancer, the second that another dear friend who has been out of work for some time may lose his house. 2 Days later another friend lost his 14 y/o son. Here I was feeling sorry for myself because "I am tired of working all the time!"

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Merry Christmas Everyone, give my gift to the least of our brethren please.
