Got A 1277 Today!

Recommended Posts

Well, went and done it again..... Long story short, seen a 1277 on cl about a week ago for $300. Needed another tractor like a hole in the head so just thought I'd sit on it for a week or so. Was still for sale last night so shot the owner an offer for 150 and the rest is history. Little rough around the edges but nothing abit of hard work wont fix...couldn't resist working on it so that's what's going on now. Thought I'd do a phone post to spread the good news...

Here's a pic, more to come, later....

this is the second 1967 tractor i have and also has a black dash panel. is this just coincidence or did they come that way? i thought that they all had the dash with the chrome looking upper with red wheel horse script and black bottom...(like the 875 i have)

You are right, the dash should be the shiny one on top.

Looks like a good score. I love my 1276 which is a similar tractor. Gotta love those mid sixties long hoods!

yeah mike, they are really growing on me.......

the 1054 was really the favorite for a long time until i got the 1057 and now this one. my wife jeanine loves the 1054, so that sort of became hers when the first long hood came into the picture. the little 875 was claimed by my son kent, and i guess now im 'collecting' long hoods......

Those old hydros are nice - quirky & jerky at times, but that just adds to their personality. :handgestures-thumbup:

Big blocks, long skinny hoods, no "running boards", and the narrow rear fenders = :wicked:

Perry's got a nice 1277..... I believe there are some pics in the gallery.

thanks for that info terry.

at scotts meet and greet i spent some time talking to earleeclifton about his 1277 and i was sort of interested in the long hood hydro model. the 1057 is nice but the 1277 seems like a upper level offering for 1967 with its 'auto drive' and wood grain decals. i told my wife i was going out this morning to get a woodie. (i used to be big into the gm b body wagons a few years ago). i guess she could have taken that another way, too........... :eusa-whistle:
