On the road tomorrow morning! Bringing home a new toy!

Recommended Posts

Heading out tomorrow morning to bring home a new catch. It's not a Struck Dozer but the next closest thing :banana-dance:. I had a Struck and really liked it but had bought it to level my yard after I put on my addition. I wasn't into collecting at the time and sold it once the project was done. I've always regretted it since. This is in decent shape and complete but I am going to do a full restoration on it as they are pretty rare. Only made two years. With any luck I'll have it done for the show in Kent next year.

SteveBo probably pulled me back from the edge a little to hard :auto-layrubber: ! Thanks Steve!

Now that is the way to go Jeff !! Not red but pretty clean. Good thing as I was going to tell you that the struck we looked at is no longer for sale per the current owner (finally talked to him today). Good luck with that one !!

Very cool Jeff  As nice as it looks, you'll probably get the manuals with it, but in case you don't, I uploaded them to MTF a few years ago. Click here (and if you'd like them without the MTF watermark ;) send me an email...)

If I did not have to get on a roof today in the snow I would make it a bloody mary....

Thanks to SteveBo's help, it's now in my workshop. I'm gonna do some minor things first to get it running and operating smooth.

That is way cool Jeff, I'm going to have to stop by one day on my way home from work and check it out. Has it been restored before and are they the correct colors? It looks pretty nice if they are. How many Horsies does the Briggs have?

I bet Steve is on the hunt for one now, he could always use one of them (or even something bigger) up there on the Ponderosa.

Ken,

It's a 6hp Briggs. It wasn't restored, just kind of a Maaco paint job. I believe the colors are correct.

Zeek,

Funny you said that. My youngest asked me that exact same thing when he saw it!

Colors are correct. We used to have one back when I was about 12 years old. They are alot of fun to play with. The one we had came with a front mowing deck and blade. They were made in Des Moines, Iowa. Right down the street from where the Wheel Horse snowmobiles were made, less than a quarter mile. Jeff, if you ever get bored with it I would definitely make a trip east.

Bob Rock used to have one of these tractors which of course was painted Wheel Horse red with a logo painted on the hood. I beleive Rollerman then became owner, then it was passed onto Dennis M.,who then passed it on to Ollie who I believe still has it. I would bet that either Bob or Stephen probably still would have a picture. I might even have a picture.

No work for this when it's done. I may play a little before I go to town on it.

John,

Is this the one you were talking about?

Jeff you nailed right on the head. I believe thats the tractor. They were built by Lennox furnace corp located just down the street from AMF where the sleds were built. They also built the snowmobile trailers. I had alot of fun on that tractor. I pushed alot of snow but when you were a kid you could only imagine the different things you could come up with

I actually saw that at the Wheel Horse show in PA a few years ago. Can't remember who owned it at that time. Mine will stay stock with no modifications!

I forgot all about that Terramite. Where did you have that one stashed when I was up a few weeks ago?
