Mith 2 #1 Posted November 15, 2007 First post, so I had better show pictures of the machines eh.... Commando 8. Use it for shifting wood, it wont mark the lawn even when its very wet 197? Lawn Ranger. Its been sitting in those weeds for 2 years since I got it, any more information on it would be nice. The other machines are Toro era ones, so they can wait till another day. perry 82 #2 Posted November 15, 2007 nice lookin horse. what is the reason for the front duals?. shifting wood?. is the steering hard?. my 877 horse is not lawn friendly but the front chains work great.
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #3 Posted November 15, 2007 Hi, Jim. I'm glad you were able to find us. Some of the guys here will recognize your name and your tractors. Guys, Jim is in the UK and you should see some of his handiwork. He has made a pull behind mower, a loader and, if I'm not mistaken, he's in the process of making a backhoe. BTW, Jim, how is that project coming along.
Mith 2 #4 Posted November 15, 2007 Perry, I have a habit of sinking things in the mud, and the duals all round should help avoid that. It steers just fine, the inner tyres are slightly larger diameter than those on the outside (on both front and back), this makes it much easier to turn on the hard stuff. Treed, backhoe is coming along slowly but surely. I had to rebuild the seat pan area to fit all the hydraulic pump and filters in, and that is all back together now, so its just a case of a little welding and hydraulic plumbing to finish the backhoe. I'm hoping to be done for Christmas. This is about the best pic I have of the tractor with the modifications (without the backhoe attached, and I'll add a picture of where the backhoe is up to. I've had to detach the loader while I'm doing the work, as it wont fit in the shed with both the backhoe and the loader attached. Thanks
Rollerman 290 #5 Posted November 15, 2007 Glad to have you at Red Square Mith. I have visited your own site before & found it pretty neat. I hope you can add a link here? So the duals on front of your Commando 8....did you use rings or just bolt the rims together side by side? Neat pic & look forward to more.
