Shuboxlover 478 #1 Posted December 6, 2011 I'm gonna change the fluid in my 753's tranny since I'm picking up the 3 seals today, what kind of fluid should I use? I'm also changing the fluid in my GT-1642 which calls for sae140. Is there a fluid that is the same I can use for both? I sense the sae140 won't work for the 753, but maybe I'm wrong. Could I use sae 90 in both?

rmaynard 15,608 #4 Posted December 7, 2011 Have you tried looking here? This is the Wheel Horse lubrication chart. It's found in the section titled "Wheel Horse Links". http://www.wolverine...lubrication.pdf
pfrederi 17,881 #5 Posted December 7, 2011 Don't over think this transmission lube issue. WH changed its mind over the years, and as long as you keep the water out I don't see that it makes a difference in normal use. My L107 has run 40w motor oil (what WH specified back then) in the rear end for its entire life with absolutely no problems. Shifts nice even in the winter. Coadster32 793 #6 Posted January 15, 2012 40w is specified, but I use 80w-90 in mine w/o problems. (Doesn't leak out as fast) :hide:
