Martin 2,132 #1 Posted December 5, 2011 my wife and i started back on the jigsaw puzzles again for the winter. its something we both like doing to wind down and its a nice break from working. i look at it like sort of like working on the tractors (when things are going good) without getting dirty and smashing fingers etc... we dont do anything real hard, this ones 1000 pcs. heres the results of a few hours last night and some time this afternoon and evening... of course theres some apple pie for beverage while this was going on. Rollerman 290 #2 Posted December 5, 2011 I do this to when the weather is to cold for me & I'm on my winter downtime. Good way to pass time, after all....you can't stay on RS 24/7.
Sparky-(Admin) 21,332 #3 Posted December 9, 2011 Wasn't there a place or website that would make a puzzle out of a picture you sent or e-mailed them? Wouldn't a huge red WH tractor puzzle be cool . Mike..........

mowerman1193 32 #6 Posted December 12, 2011 I make jigsaw puzzles with my scroll saw..I have done a few custom ones and had thought about asking permission to use some of the photos here to make myself one..I just been to busy with custom orders this fall that I have not had a chance to play making my Wheel Horse items..Was planning to make more of the ornaments again but I have been hoppin with custom ordered stuff..I had not thought about asking if anyone else would want one, though they are somewhat pricey with the process to make them...though they are not cheap pressed paper ones either as mine are out of 1/4" plywood.. DoctorHfuhruhurr 137 #7 Posted December 13, 2011 There's a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop called AV Bros. Puzzle Pro that can create a puzzle from a photo pretty quickly. I made a puzzle image in about 10 minutes. I'm not sure where this photo came from that I tested with. There are lots of companies online the will create custom puzzles from a photo. Here's some prices I saw from Jigsaw2order.com for cardboard backed custom puzzles. www.jigsaw2order.com/puzzle_sizes.html I know someone with a CO2 Laser at his house. Maybe I'll have him laser me one out of wood.
mowerman1193 32 #8 Posted December 13, 2011 Actually those prices are kind of high for a cardboard puzzle I think anyway..My price would be more than theirs but your talking major quality differences too... Not sure how well a laser would work for doing puzzles..all the laser things I have seen the edges are chared and burnt up..Might catch the photo and glue on fire, LOL A CNC carver tool might be an option though.. Kevin I didn't mean to leave the impression that I was comparing the cardboard ones to yours. Yours are obviously a higher collector quality. I just included the first link I found for cardboard puzzles and didn't do any in depth price searching. With the laser; I was thinking the entire image would be burned into the wood and then cut into puzzle pieces. A 3D image would be cool but I haven't researched that yet. I know you wasn't comparing...I was just saying that for a cardboard puzzle that the price was a little high considering thats not to far off from my prices for the wood puzzles..I think after the holidays I may try to make some up just for fun..
