Looks a better than what it did!!!! I guess you can say I got lucky, all my stuff got covered in oil...But still took out the S/G on my 854...

Not at you, but still irritated by that deal when I think about it.....

Yes Joe what he said to you was totally uncalled for. I think I would be still upset about it too

on to the gas tank as it was full of water and corrosion

100_5306.jpg

I disassembled the tank halfs so it could be sand blasted out and replace the gasket

also wanted to repair one of the hood hold down mounts so a small piece of alum. stock

was recessed in to the side of the tank for welding

100_5339.jpg

all welded and ready to reassemble

100_5350.jpg

also needed to replace the fuel bowl on the bottom of the tank

I'd sure like to have one of those wands you keep waving over these tractors and in no time they're like new again. I don't know how you do it Brian, but you do it very well! Nice job, :bow-blue:

Denny, I believe Brian has one of those magic wands he just waves over these tractors and they suddenly appear just like he wants them whether it would be original or stainless. Great job Brian as usual. Hows the rj35 moving along?

Brian,

wow, thats a fabulous job! :)

very nice saving those two flood victims..

Im from the Southern Tier myself (Waverly) but live out in Rochester now..

but my Sister and her family live in Nichols..they got off easy..only 5 feet of water in the basement!

but their first floor was spared..unlike many people in Owego, Barton, Sayre and Athens..

The neighbors on their street had a grim joke..the family with the *smallest* pile of debris hauled out to the curb wins! ;)

gotta keep a sense of humor..

I was down the week after the flood to help them clean up..the whole area was a disaster..

My sisters husband works in Owego, and I have family in Athens..Owego and Athens were hit worse

than Agnes in '72..I know of people in Athens who still arent back in their homes yet..

Nice to see a bit of positive news (these two tractors) come out of all of it.. icon-thumbsup.gif

getting started back on the RJ35 the first thing was to remove the side cover

100_5468.jpg

it was half full of water but at least not to rusty

100_5470.jpg

found the woodruff key slots in the axle wore

100_5465.jpg

so I decided to make a new axle

100_5466.jpg

next I will have to cut the weld off the large axle gear

100_5476.jpg

got them apart :banana-dance:
