sscotsman 148 #44 Posted December 30, 2011 Brian, wow, thats a fabulous job! very nice saving those two flood victims.. Im from the Southern Tier myself (Waverly) but live out in Rochester now.. but my Sister and her family live in Nichols..they got off easy..only 5 feet of water in the basement! but their first floor was spared..unlike many people in Owego, Barton, Sayre and Athens.. The neighbors on their street had a grim joke..the family with the *smallest* pile of debris hauled out to the curb wins! gotta keep a sense of humor.. I was down the week after the flood to help them clean up..the whole area was a disaster.. My sisters husband works in Owego, and I have family in Athens..Owego and Athens were hit worse than Agnes in '72..I know of people in Athens who still arent back in their homes yet.. Nice to see a bit of positive news (these two tractors) come out of all of it.. Scot
