rmaynard 15,519 #1 Posted November 25, 2011 I put an ad on Craigslist offering my recently restored B-100 for sale. For the price I was asking, I didn't think it would get any action. But, I got a phone call the other day from a collector in Richmond, Va. who was going to be in the area today. He came to see what I had, and left with two of my little horses. I sold the 1976 B-100 restoration and the 1966 856. I really didn't plan on any of them selling, but money does have a way of speaking to me. Guess I'm in the market for a nice roundhood now. :dunno:

dclarke 4,032 #6 Posted November 25, 2011 A round hood would be a nice addition to your collection Bob. Did wheel horse make a model RHB-100? :dunno:
rmaynard 15,519 #7 Posted November 25, 2011 A round hood would be a nice addition to your collection Bob. Did wheel horse make a model RHB-100? Hmm...could be one out there somewhere. Stranger horses have shown up before. I have had my eye on a nice Commando 8 for a while. It's not a roundhood, but it is the featured tractor for the 2012 WHCC show in June. This one has been kept in the family since it was purchased new. It's been garage kept and is currently in the hands of the grandson of the original owner. Thought it would be a nice one to bring to the show if I can land it. Edit: Looks like they either changed the hood or did a repaint and decal change. I am getting the ID tag number to verify. VinsRJ 721 #9 Posted November 25, 2011 Bob, congrats on your sale.... That Commando would be perfect for the Show.... Maybe you could rent it if they don't want to sell. :dunno:
rmaynard 15,519 #10 Posted November 25, 2011 I don't know if I could have parted with that B-100. Jim, It was not easy. And when he said he wanted my little 856 too, that almost made me think twice. Then he started to peel off the $$$$.$$ and I started to feel better. :dunno:

rmaynard 15,519 #19 Posted November 29, 2011 I really didn't want to do another full restoration this winter. Three tractors in three years is a bit much. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding a K301 engine that I was going to put on the '76 B-100, but needless to say, those plans are scrapped. I'm going to finish the engine and I guess I will try to have the Commando done in time for the big show in June.
Suburban 550 28 #20 Posted November 30, 2011 Bob, it would have been hard for me to part with that B-100. It really was a beauty. Good Luck with the new Commando 8 and I know you will work your majic with it to having it looking as good as the B-100.
rmaynard 15,519 #21 Posted November 30, 2011 Bob, it would have been hard for me to part with that B-100. It really was a beauty. Good Luck with the new Commando 8 and I know you will work your majic with it to having it looking as good as the B-100. Ray, I put the ad on Craigslist when I was trying to raise a little horse money to go after a Suburban 400 that I was looking at. I did not get the 400, and I really didn't think I would get any legitimate responses, considering that I was asking $2000.00 and hadn't gotten any hits. But then I got an email from a guy who was interested. He came and looked at it the day after Thanksgiving, said he wanted it and my 856. He ultimately bought those and a snow plow, an 8-speed transmission, and a NOS mule drive. As I watched him drive away it was bittersweet. I had a hand full of cash, but he had my babies. Okay, I'm over it. Now I need to go pick up the Commando 8 and get busy.
