dgoyette 12 #1 Posted November 24, 2011 We got about 10 inches of pretty heavy snow yesterday. This photo was taken about 3/4 of the way through the storm. I used the D-180 to clean up and she did a great job. I forgot how much fun these D series are for plowing. I added this ballast box using a 2" receiver hitch and bolted a pintle hook mount to it. The pintle hook plate itself must weigh 30 or more pounds. Here is a closer shot at the D receiver hitch. This is a one of a kind homemade that I found on E-bay. I decided a while back that I was just going to make all ballast boxes, tow hooks, suitcase weight brackets, etc to mount using a 2" receiver. There is so many options and cool things for sale for 2" receivers it just makes sense. You can even mount a winch if you want as they sell winch mounts for 2" receiver hitches. And other cool things made for quads. That is why I am buying some of smoreaus hitches. I can move this box from the D-180 to a my C-160 or 314-8 in a few minutes. Cool!
