Callen 64 #1 Posted November 7, 2011 Got an 875 and was wondering if there is any adjustment to keep the hydro control handle from moving while it is setting still idling? It doesn't have an indent bar like my charger. Thanks, Chester
smoreau 658 #2 Posted November 7, 2011 very common problem Over the years I have seen springs, wood wedged under the plate to give friction on the control handle. My 875 launched it self and me off the side of my trailer a few months ago when I didn't set the parking brake while trying to get off of the tractor So I think I know your distress in the matter. I would like to find a simple solution to this problem. That is one of the many things that are on my project list for this winter or spring......... Any how, we will see what others have done to fix this.
TT-(Moderator) 1,145 #3 Posted November 7, 2011 Until 1968 - when the friction collar assembly was added to the DCL, the only way to increase friction was to tighten the screws at the cam plate on the front of the hydro pump unit. This will only work if the cam and tension plates are in good condition and NOT lubricated. Tighten them just enough to hold as overtightening will only cause excess wear. Your only other option is to try to retrofit the DCL assembly from a '68 & newer tractor.

Callen 64 #5 Posted November 10, 2011 Think I'm going to try springs on each side of the shaft that the handle rocks on with plastic washers.
