Callen 64 #1 Posted November 3, 2011 I recently bought an 875. Got it running and it moved a small amount forward and quit moving. Checked for the push valve being open and the pin and cross piece is completely gone. How does it work internally? Can I put another one in it? Have I hurt it? Thanks Chester
TT-(Moderator) 1,145 #2 Posted November 3, 2011 The release (tow) valve on an 875 should be a rear-facing hex head "bolt" at the rear of the pump unit & accessed through the storage/tool box under the fender. If it has been "upgraded" to the next generation Hydrogear unit, the entire 1/2 turn valve assembly simply screws out of the pump body. It probably won't be a problem unless dirt found its way in the open hole.
Callen 64 #3 Posted November 3, 2011 Thank you, Terry. It must of been upgraded? It has the large hex like my Charger only in the back inline with the hole in the toolbox.
TT-(Moderator) 1,145 #4 Posted November 3, 2011 From the manual: Does yours look anything like this?
Callen 64 #5 Posted November 3, 2011 Yes, Terry. looks identical to that. The hole in the tool box aligns with the allenhead in the large hex nut. From what i could get my head in there to see, it looked like it should have been in that location. The valve just looked like a reg bolt head. It was open about 3 turns. Now I know. Thank you very much.
