118lfd 8 #1 Posted November 2, 2011 What size wood ruff key is used in the 1 1/8 axles? I put mine together with a 1/4" by 1 1/4" but I found an old key and it measured 1/4" by 1 3/8". I don't want to push or blow snow if I have too small a key in the axles. There was some room in the key-way when I put the hubs on but it did not seem excessive. rmaynard 15,605 #2 Posted November 2, 2011 What model is this for? The 1-1/8" axle in a 103907 8-speed transmission uses a woodruff key that measures 1/4" x 1-3/8".
118lfd 8 #3 Posted November 2, 2011 Its an 8 speed. The 1 inch key did not stick out of the key way at all. So I went to the next size. But now I found this old key in my parts and it was 1 3/8ths
rmaynard 15,605 #4 Posted November 2, 2011 I just took a hub off and measured the key. Please see my edited post above.
118lfd 8 #5 Posted November 2, 2011 Thanks I must have the next size down key. I am going to pull the hubs and install the right keys on Thursday.
