CasualObserver 3,408 #26 Posted June 26, 2008 Looks like a twin to the Mustang above... probably also made by the Mowett Corp for whoever "Continental" was.
Rollerman 290 #27 Posted June 27, 2008 There was a "Continental" up the road from me for sale a few weeks back. Sure looked funny....people most have been a lot smaller back then. Mike not sure if you knew..the Amigo's were built up the road from you in Dowagiac...neat tractors...I have yet to see one in the flesh.
wh500special 2,188 #28 Posted June 27, 2008 Another look alike would be the Rugg mowers. Here's one on Craigslist: http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/grd/732450338.html These things have quite a following. I accidentally bought an NOS snowblade for one at an auction once (closed box and I wondering what was inside) and shipped it to a master collector who was tickled to get it. There is a group on Yahoo for these too. Steve
doc 0 #29 Posted July 16, 2011 :woohoo: I seen your post on wanting a mini mower I found one in a scrap yard I hate to see it go but if you are interested in it its called a rugg carpet cuter, I have some pic if interested in it
Stress Test Pullin 0 #30 Posted July 19, 2011 We have 2 of the "mini-mower" type tractors, people love seeing them at tractor shows and such, i guess they just stick out because of there size The red tractor is a 67 Toro with a 4hp Tecumseh on it, and the orange one is a Grants tractor with a 4hp Briggs on it

squonk 41,157 #34 Posted August 21, 2011 To continue with the off-topic mode, we used tractors, as in farm tractors, for our source of speed, about 18-20mph depending on the tractor. Ever go skiing on a car hood?! Daddy's old Fergy TO-20 would FFFFFFLY! And remember the Oliver's with "road gear"? The hoods from the 40s and 50s that wrapped down over the top of the grill were great when flipped upside down! Seems like every winter though at least one drunk would get hurt pretty bad by rolling off one being pulled behind a truck! :imstupid: When I worked at a golf course we had a Worthington with a Continental 4 banger that we clocked at about 48MPH! I think it would have gone faster except the steering was shot! We also had a Jake with a Ford 4 popper that went about 35.
Raider 2 #35 Posted August 21, 2011 I did find one locally that we've been playing with, it's a Springfield.

Don1977 604 #40 Posted December 21, 2011 And to think I thought there wasn't much out there smaller than a Lawn Ranger! A Lawn Ranger was a Cadillac compared to some of those first riders.
