B 80 transmission switch from 4 to 8

Hello, in the past 2 weeks I have stepped into 3 WH tractors, one is a RJ 5_ and the other 2 are B 80's. One looks brand new with bad engine (the previous owner now knows about using oil) and 4 speed. The other, from another owner (same as the RJ) has a good engine and an 8 speed. How hard is it to swap out trannies and on top of that, should I go through the trouble? Any input would be appreciated.

first off

The tans will swap out with no problems and without much effort. you have the two tractors so just use everything from the 8 speed. Good luck

well, the RJ is going to be given to a retired friend, who I am sure all of you will appreciate, loves WH and will rebuild it and make it right. After I swap out the tranny's I will be Selling him the other B 80 so he can rebuild that one too.

a b80 4 speed and a b80 8 speed had differant size frames and hoods the b 80 4 speed has a mid size frame the same as a 73 8 4 speed does but the b80 8 speed has a normal long frame under it
