picked up a couple of odd ball tractors

Recommended Posts

perry

found these 2 together on craigslist. and for a great price  .

the one is a david bradley sears 725 w/ snowplow and the other is a simplicity wonder boy 400 w/ snowplow & tire chains. i got the DB tractor to fire up :WRS: . looks all original and everything seems to work down to the push/pull on off switch. it just needs a drive belt.

the simplicity is complete but has no spark. ill dig into that one when i can.

Nice find Perry. Right off that Simplicity puts me in mind of the old Allis CHalmers G tractors. This Sears David Bradley site has some basic info on your 725. Maybe it was an option but that site says the 725 had independent brakes. :WRS: I dont notice the brake levers on yours but that would have been interesting to have seen.

looks like mine is a 1963. with the style belt guard it has and no fenders.

In 1964 the David Bradley name was dropped from Sears lawn and garden equipment. Therefore this Suburban tractor list ends with 1963.

I like that Wonderboy too... my brother in law has two of them.... one's a little older with joystick steering if I remember right.
