My name is Luke, I live in south jersey and have been an autobody guy/ painter for the last 15 years or so. I have been wanting to get an old tractor for awile now and the other day I came across a CL add for a 1950s wheel horse. I then found the site looking for info on the tractor. Well the tractor was already sold, but I did find this site and am looking forword to spending some time here. And with any luck I'll find a cool old tractor project to restore. Thanks in advance to everyone, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions, LoL!

Rmanard, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me on this thread or even send me a PM and I'll do my best to help. I have been pretty lucky, for many years I have made a living restoring cool old cars and motorcycles, worked at a corvette restoration shop for a few years, even worked at a Lambo/ Bentley /RR dealership for a few years... also got into fab work and machining a lil' too. But by no means do I think I know everything, it seems the more I learn the more I realize how little I know.

LoL, Maple shade! I worked at the corvette shop on main st. that was inbetween the gas station and Jem auto, across from the liquor store for about 3 years. I had a fab shop for about 5 years on coles ave. across from decone's lugage. I grew up in cherry hill nere ashland and live in atco nere atco raceway now. It's funny how small the world is!

Keep an eye on the classified section, members here post reguarly and maybe could help find what you are looking for. There are also several yahoo groups that specialize in WH tractors and even a WH classified group.

Well I did it! I bought my first tractor today! It's not a wheel horse but it's still pretty cool. It's a Pennsylvania Panzer. I drove over 300 miles to get it, LoL. I don't know exactly what it is yet but I'm working on tring to figure it out. I'll try and post some pics in a min. Maybe some of you can help I.D. it.

and the motor, not sure what it is or if it's original to the tractor. Everything has been painted, it was originaly teal. The rear and motor spin, motor seems to have compression. The lever to ingage the belt is brocken and I don't know if the seat is original to the tractor. The guy I got it from was selling it for someone else and didn't know much about it. He said it had a snow plow on it but the blade was rusted too bad to save. I wish he would have took it with the tractor, I've probably resorected worse. No mower deck or anything else . But I'm still stoked. :D

Howdy . I think that Panzers are cool looking,Bantams also appeal to me a bunch. They just have a classy look to them.Heck,I pretty much like them all, I just prefer Wheel Horses if for no other reason than my Dad had one and left it to me and now Im addicted I really love the way they look , especially the roundhoods, and how they are put together too. Its cool to see a fellow bodyman here, there are quite a few here thats for sure. Its funny, I could be 100% burned out working on customer vehicles as well as my own but working on projects like restoring vintage motorcycles and tractors is a whole different thing to me, it's therapeutic for me and relaxing. At least thats how it has always been for me.
