312-8 PTO belt type/number

Recommended Posts

E1-12k801

Hi,

I recently acquired a Wheelhorse 312-8 from my uncle. Anyway, one of the belts needs replacing, as whichever one was put on previously is too long/has stretched. It is the one going from the PTO, around the pulleys and to the blades. It is the one that can be seen in the first picture posted by another user at

http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/a/help-on-..._post28924.html

The model number is E1-12k801

I'm looking for a part number or specification for this belt. Can anyone help?

I've checked the Toro website, but cant seem to find it.

I have seen information regarding a belt on this mower, part number 7473, but I believe this is the drive belt going to the rear wheels?

Thanks

A1988

You need the deck VIN to find the belt. Or, at least the size and discharge type to narrow it down. And yes, 7473 is the drive belt...

I'm not really sure where I can find the VIN plate.

The only plate I have found on it says ID number: E1-12k801 27398

Is this it?

It is a side discharge version with 3 blades. As it has been down in a friends garage since, I'll have to ask him to try to find out the cut width.

Cheers

That is the tractors VIN number....

Measure 1 balde, times it by three...it will get us close. You could go to Toro's site and look up the VIN of the tractor and it will list all decks it used. Probably a 42 or 48" deck...

I got it checked and you're right, it is a 42" cut width.

I've also found out that it is a Toro 102742 belt which should be used. However, as this is no longer available the 94-2501 belt should be used instead.

Thanks for your help, Cheers
